The DVD and the teaching materials it contains do not intend to focus on the management and operational details of the Tourist Industry but rather the impact of Tourism on places across the known world and the associated infrastructures and spatial dimensions of the tourist phenomena. This is not to ignore the size and potential of the Tourist Industry worldwide but to recognise that Tourism is the ultimate spatial study with the ever increasing movement of humans around the world having significant cultural and environmental impact in every corner of the world. Through the geographical study of Tourism it is hoped awareness is created of the potential damage tourists and tourism can cause to a locale and provide the opportunity to ensure that the activity of Tourism is both economically and culturally sustainable whilst providing a minimalist environmental footprint.
