4. GeoCareers website
Rob Berry, the web manager of the AGTA website has done a great job in putting together the GeoCareers website. The site is a very 'user friendly' and useful site for learning about geographical careers. The GeoCareers website contains resource links and case studies of young people who have done geography at school and see a link between what they learnt in geography and what they do in their job. A great site to pass on to the career counsellor/s and subject/career selection personnel in your school Rob Berry, the web manager of the AGTA website has done a great job in putting together the GeoCareers website. The SASOSE annual conference will be held in conjunction with the Social Educator’s of Australia (SEAA) biennial conference 'Learning for Life- Sustainability, Global Citizenship and Social Justice' at Hindmarsh Development Centre Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February 2010. This conference is for early years, primary, middle school and secondary teachers of any subjects in the SOSE area.
Registrations for one, two or three days are now open for SA teachers to attend. Registrations will be handled by CEASA and as there is an early bird price until 14th November, teachers are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
For the full program, registration costs and registration form see under 2010 conference on the SASOSE website. The social program at the conference must be booked on the registration form.
Once registered with payment, teachers will receive by email a form on which they must then indicate their preferences for the workshops / papers or field trips. Places will be allocated in order of receipt and as it is likely to be very popular the sooner these come in the more the likelihood of getting your first preferences as some workshops and field trips will have limited numbers. Once workshop and field trip sessions are full this will be indicated in the program on the SASOSE website.
